Many "muslims" sometimes wear caps to showoff their religious faith. They proudly wear it but wont dare to grow a beard (which is actually more important). God knows best who prays 5 times a day and who is true muslim, hence its not required to dress up piously for the people around you. We cover our head with (caps/scarves/turbans) during namaz as a show of respect and worship to our MASTER as we stand before him with folded hands and bow our heads down in fear. I myself cringe when I see posters of politicians wishing muslims Eid Mubarak etc wearing caps in photos. Though during my college days we used to organize an iftar party and invite non-muslim friends as well (which is OK) but nowadays 'secular' celebs have made a mockery out of it. The Bollywood Khans are the ones to be blamed that have created a cult of crazy muslim fans who follow them blindly and watch their movies on Eid which encourage them to turn typical Mumbai taporis.
